- Individuals in program must be willing to take "political risks" in order to achieve significant change
- Partners must agree:
- Primary Focus is Prevention
- To accept that there is a strong association between the ecological factors of poverty, education, maternal and family stress and emotional stability with the health and well being of both parents and child
- To believe in the preservation of family centered, coordinated care.
- To recognize that treatment services often come too late in a family's life and are very costly.
YEAR TWO OUTCOMES/OBJECTIVES:
- Transcend focus of program from treatment to prevention (wellness)
- Place more emphasis on early childhood health interventions
- Continued to develop and deliver services through the Dental Outreach Program
