Repeat Dialing

Description

Repeat Dialing automatically sets up a call to the last telephone number you dialed whether inside or outside of your BellSouth® Centrex service system.  The feature is particularly useful when you have reached a busy line.

Upon hearing a busy signal you can hang up, then go off hook again and dial the Repeat Dialing feature code.  Repeat Dialing monitors the busy line for up to 30 minutes.  Once the busy party’s line becomes idle, you are notified by a special ring-back signal.  The Repeat Dialing feature begins ringing the now idle line as soon as you answer your telephone.  Ring-back signaling is repeated every five minutes for the remainder of the 30-minute monitoring period in the event you missed answering the first ring-back call.

The Repeat Dialing feature can monitor up to 30 different busy lines at a time.  As each line becomes available, you are notified by a ring-back signal.  However, you will not be able to distinguish which line has become idle.

Sample Application

An employee within a purchasing department needs to know the status of a particular contract as soon as possible.  The employee has called the vendor contact and received a busy signal.  By activating Repeat Dialing, a call between the vendor contact and the employee will be automatically set up as soon as both parties are free.

Repeat Dialing can also be used as a redial feature.  After hanging up from the vendor contact, the employee remembers one more question.  The employee activates Repeat Dialing to call back the vendor without having to redial the vendor’s telephone number.

Speed Calling Long

Description

Speed Calling Long allows you to call up to 30 frequently called telephone numbers by dialing an abbreviated speed calling code.  Speed Calling Long codes are two digits in length and range from 20 to 49.  These codes are programmed into your Speed Calling Long list along with their associated telephone numbers.  Each number programmed into your Speed Calling Long list is limited to a maximum of 16 digits, including access (e.g., “9”) and routing codes (1 + Area Code).

You may have an individual list or you may share a list with several other users on your BellSouth® Centrex service system:

·         Individual - An individual list is yours alone.  All numbers must be programmed into the list from your telephone.  In addition, your Speed Calling Long list cannot be used to place calls from any other telephone.

·         Group  - A group list is shared by more than one extension.  The ability to program or change the group list is only allowed from one predetermined line designated as the List Owner.  However, speed-calling codes can be used to place calls by all lines sharing the list.

Sample Application

A pharmaceutical company has centralized much of its internal support services (e.g., graphics, word processing, and mailroom).  To make access to these services easy for its employees, a shared Speed Calling List has been programmed with a contact number for each support function.  Each function is identified by its Speed Calling code. The list and codes are used by all employees to contact the appropriate support center personnel for assistance. By using a shared list, support center extension numbers can be changed without having to notify employees as long as the Speed Calling code stays the same.

Speed Calling Short

Description

Speed Calling Short allows you to call up to six frequently called telephone numbers by dialing an abbreviated speed calling code.  Speed Calling Short codes are one digit numbers ranging from 2 to 7.  These codes are programmed into your Speed Calling Short list along with their associated telephone numbers.  Each number programmed into your Speed Calling Short list is limited to a maximum of 16 digits, including access (e.g., “9”) and routing codes (1 + Area Code).

Your Speed Calling Short list is yours alone.  All numbers must be programmed into the list from your telephone.  In addition, your list cannot be used to place calls from any other extension.

Sample Application

A Film Production Manager calls the same studios and suppliers every day.  Speed Calling Short allows her to dial those numbers quickly and easily by entering a single digit code.

A staff employee must dial the same numbers weekly to gather data for a sales report covering a four-state area.  Instead of dialing the complete number each time; he can reach each sales office by dialing a one-digit code.

Three-Way Conference

Availability- This feature is available with Three Way Calling, Consultation Hold, Transfer, per line, Incoming Only – Individual (CENLH) or Three Way Calling, Consultation Hold, Transfer, per one (Includes “Added Call Transfer) – All Calls Unrestricted.

Feature Control- Standard Features must be assigned to the line via service order or you must subscribe to BellSouth® Centrex service’s Customer Control option.

Once assigned, Three-Way Conference may be activated by the BellSouth® Centrex service user on a per call basis.

Description

Three-Way Conference allows you to add a third party to an existing conversation forming a three-way conference call.  The two parties participating in the conference call may be inside or outside your BellSouth® Centrex service system.

Sample Application

Three-Way Conference calling is useful when you need to speak with two parties simultaneously.  This feature can also be used when a third party is needed to ensure that information is properly conveyed.  For example, a company selling farm products to the Latin American market often needs to communicate with customers in Spanish.  Three-Way Conference is used to establish a call between a customer, a company representative and a staff interpreter.  The interpreter translates the conversation between parties.

Toll Restriction

Description

The Toll Restriction feature of BellSouth® Centrex service prevents unauthorized users from placing long distance calls by dialing the digits “0” or “1” immediately following the exchange network access code (e.g., “9”).  Attempts to place long distance calls, which require these initial digits, are not permitted.

There are two kinds of Toll Restriction.  The two features differ in what calls are restricted:

·         Toll Restriction - Attempts to place toll calls are routed to an intercept announcement or reorder tone.

·         Toll Restriction with Restriction from Mandatory Expanded Local Calling Area (North Carolina). Attempts to place toll calls and calls to numbers that are now local but were once toll are routed to an intercept announcement or reorder tone.

This feature is assigned on a per line basis.  Assignment of Toll Restriction to one number does not restrict the placing of toll calls from any other number in your BellSouth® Centrex service arrangement.

Sample Application

Toll Restriction can prevent the placing of long distance calls from a particular station.  For example, if there is an unsupervised telephone accessible to the general public, Toll Restriction can be assigned to prohibit toll calls.

Toll Restriction with Restriction from Mandatory Expanded Local Calling Area restricts not only toll calls but also calls to local numbers in a Mandatory Expanded Local Calling Area that were toll calls.
