| It is the policy of BellSouth to:
This is accomplished through the integration of Environmental, Health and Safety considerations into our business planning (including normal and emergency operations), decision-making, and daily activities. Environmental, Heath and Safety considerations are the individual and collective responsibility of all BellSouth employees. The BellSouth Corporate Compliance Officer, who is also the Corporate EHS Officer, provides executive oversight, as do the Compliance Senior Leaders of each BellSouth business unit. This officer is also responsible for strategic planning and tactical oversight of the Corporation’s Business Continuity and Security plan as it relates to Environmental, Health and Safety issues relative to emergency management and in particular those aspects associated with nuclear, biological and chemical (NBC) threats. The Corporate Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) organization at BellSouth is charged with developing and maintaining the corporate Environmental and Occupational Health and Safety Programs to comply with regulatory requirements and BellSouth policy. To support this policy, BellSouth focuses our Environmental, Health
and Safety efforts in three primary areas: Compliance, Conservation
and Community Involvement. |
