| The BellSouth Cooperative Education Program | ||
The Co-op program is a unique opportunity to profit from the best of both worlds. The course of academic study is integrated with important career-directed work experience. BellSouth Co-op students alternate school terms and work terms during the spring, summer or fall semesters (3-4 total rotations). The result is real education; the perfect symbiosis of theory and practice.
BellSouth has developed a Co-op program that reflects the high standards
of our company. We will place Co-ops in an environment compatible with his/her
needs; one in which the student will benefit from our experience and be challenged
to grow in the future.

| What willl the Co-op be doing? | ||
We offer a variety of placement opportunities in the fields of Engineering (electrical, industrial, mechanical and civil), Information Technology (computer science, computer engineering and information systems) or Business. The Co-op will be assigned to a position based on academic and career pursuits. The Supervisor will provide progressively challenging work assignments, which will be an integral part of the department's work effort.
| Where will the Co-op be working? | ||
BellSouth has work locations throughout our nine southeastern states. Placement depends upon the availability of the position for which the student is qualified and his/her availability to relocate.
| What about compensation? | ||
Our Co-op salaries are very competitive. Initial compensation is based on the degree type and the class standing (sophomore, junior, senior, 1st year graduate or 2nd year graduate). Subsequent increases are based on academic performance and job evaluations.
| How do I Apply? | ||
Search our database of current openings and create your profile online. All applicants must use BellSouth's online system and create a profile in order to be considered as a candidate for any vacancy. The database changes often as new postings are added throughout each semester.
| What happens after graduation? | ||
Permanent employment opportunities are not guaranteed but Co-ops are given strong consideration based on job availability, past academic and job performance. The experience gained is a fantastic "Foot in the Door."
