FAQs

Q. How do I apply for a job at BellSouth now the new AT&T?
A:

Click on CAREERS on the www.bellsouth.com home page. You will be redirected to the AT&T careers page where you will have a choice to view Management positions or BellSouth Occupational/Hourly positions.

For Management positions you will create a resume through the AT&T careers website.

For Non-Management/Occupational positions you will create a profile and apply for a position through the BellSouth Occupational/Hourly positions on the AT&T careers website. Please note that for most occupational/hourly jobs, testing is required. Under the Test Guides link, you will find information that will help you prepare for any pre-employment tests that may be required for a specific position. If you meet the minimum requirements after applying on-line, you will receive an email with an invitation to test if the job is still open.

Important: If you are NOT currently employed at BellSouth you MUST NOT click on the "Employees Only" box. If you apply through the "Employees Only" link, you may be disqualified for consideration to any BellSouth position.

Q. Should I expect to receive a personal contact when I apply for a job at BellSouth now the new AT&T?
A:

Although we would like to contact each job seeker personally, we are unable to because of the high volume of resumes we receive. If your skills and work experiences (and test scores, where necessary) match the requirements for our open positions, one of our Staffing Managers will contact you to discuss the next step in the staffing process. We continually update our job openings, so please visit our web site often.

Q. How can I find out about job opportunities in my area?
A:

Our job-search system link allows you to choose the location in which you are most interested and you can view the job vacancies that are available in your area.

Q. How can I locate a job that matches my skills or interest?
A:

Our job-search system allows you to select various criteria to narrow your search for vacancies that may interest you. Also, each vacancy is described in detail. If your search efforts result in no matching career opportunities, you may want to broaden your search criteria.

Q. How can I check the status of my application or resume?
A:

You may receive an email notification when your resume is received, when you do not meet the minimum requirements for a job, when you are invited to test for a position and when a job is closed. Your resume/application will be available for consideration by our Staffing Managers for one year. Within that time you may be contacted to discuss the specific vacancy for which you have applied, or you may be notified of other positions for which you want to apply. Unfortunately because of the high volume of resumes we receive, we are unable to provide a personal response on the status of resumes or applications.

Q. Where can I find test guides ?
A:

From www.bellsouth.com when clicking on CAREERS you will be redirected to AT&T's career website. You will click on viewing BellSouth's Occupational/Hourly positions. Select TEST GUIDES from the menu on the left side of the page. You must meet the minimum requirements of a job to be invited to testing.

Q. Does BellSouth now the new AT&T offer telecommuting (work-at-home) career opportunities?
A:

While many BellSouth employees telecommute, we do not designate specific jobs as telecommuting jobs. The decision to telecommute is made jointly between an employee and his or her manager, based on the feasibility of performing the work from home and other factors. We suggest that you use our job-search system to apply for vacancies that interest you and indicate your interest in telecommuting on your resume.

Q. How do I get started finding a job at BellSouth now the new AT&T?
A:

Search our jobs database by clicking on careers on the www.bellsouth.com home page. You will be redirected to the AT&T careers page where you will select to view management positions or BellSouth's Occupational/Hourly positions. Submit your resume/profile, and it will be reviewed by the appropriate Staffing Manager. If the job you are seeking requires testing, click on the "Test Guides" section of the career site to select the test tips needed to prepare you for the position you are seeking.

Q. Where and when can I take the required tests?
A:

After applying on-line, if you meet the minimum requirements of a job you will receive an email with an invitation to test if the job is still open.

Q. Once I have completed the process, when can I expect to hear if I got the job?
A:

If you are the right fit for the job and meet BellSouth's stringent criteria, a member of the staffing team will contact you.
