Keep This Notice for Future Use The following consumer rights for Pay Per Call 900 service are provided under the Federal Telephone Disclosure and Dispute Resolution Act. For billing error claims regarding 900 service charges:

If the above rules are not followed, the first $50 of each 900 service charge in question cannot be collected even if your bill was correct. The Interexchange Carrier or Information Provider may pursue collection of unpaid 900 charges through an independent collection action. Non-payment of 900 service charges or charges for similar types of service will not result in disconnection of your local or long distance service. However, access to 900 numbers can be blocked for non-payment of legitimate charges. You should not be billed for 900 services that are not offered in compliance with Federal laws and regulations. You may obtain blocking of 900 services at no charge by calling BellSouth. Attention Customers with Listed Telephone Numbers: Under the Federal Communications Commission rules, BellSouth provides your Billing Name and Address to interstate telecommunications providers for use in billing and collecting calls placed over their network. Your Billing Name and Address can also be released, when requested, for other limited activities, such as verification of Preferred Interexchange Carrier, fraud prevention and similar non-marketing purposes. |
