Q: What is a Service Agreement?
A: The BellSouth Long Distance Service
Agreement provides the basic terms and conditions for our
interstate and international services that we provide to
our residence and small business customers. To the extent
permitted or required by law, the Service Agreement also
covers our intrastate services. Additional information,
such as prices, is contained in our Pricing and Service
Guides.
Q: Does the BellSouth Long Distance Service Agreement
apply to other BellSouth services, such as my local phone
service or Internet access service?
A: No. This Service Agreement only applies
to certain services provided by BellSouth Long Distance.
Q: Do I need to take any action?
A: No. You accept our terms and conditions
simply by using or paying for any covered BellSouth Long
Distance service.
Q: What are the BellSouth Long Distance Pricing and
Service Guides and where can I find them?
A: The BellSouth Long Distance Pricing
and Service Guides describe the various BellSouth Long Distance
services, as well as the rates, terms and conditions that
apply to those services. You can find the BellSouth Long
Distance Pricing and Service Guides online at www.bellsouth.com/longdistance
or you can request a copy by calling BellSouth Long Distance
toll free at 1-866-248-3443. Our toll free TTY number for

distance calls does the BellSouth Long Distance Service
Agreement cover?
A: The Agreement applies to the following
types of long distance interstate and international calls:
domestic and international long distance, calling card,
toll free, collect, person-to-person, billed-to-third party,
directory assistance, other operator-assisted, commercial
credit card, and your local exchange company calling card
calls using BellSouth Long Distance's services.
Q: Is there anything in this Service Agreement to
which I should pay particular attention?
A: Yes. There are two notable items:
(1) Binding arbitration. Any disputes that may arise between
BellSouth Long Distance and customers that cannot be resolved
informally must now be resolved through binding arbitration
(or through small claims court if you choose). This process
is in addition to any remedies customers may have through
federal and state agencies.
(2)Notification of price increases. BellSouth Long Distance
will notify you of price increases for any BellSouth Long
Distance service to which you are subscribed. This information
will be available in a recorded announcement by calling
BellSouth Long Distance toll-free number at 1-866-248-3443.
Our toll free TTY number for customers with hearing or speech
disabilities is 1-866-248-3447. Announcements will be updated
with future price increase information at least 15 days
prior to the rate increase. In addition, all price increases
for BellSouth Long Distance interstate and international
long distance services will be posted on our Web site, www.bellsouth.com/longdistance
at least 15 days before the increases go into effect.
