Where do I get a copy of the Dialer?
Registered BellSouth Business Dial Internet customers at can obtain the BellSouth Internet Services Dialer from the BellSouth corporate Website for password-protected download: http://www.bellsouth.com/smallbusiness/products/internet/BizDial/BizDial.html.
These instructions can also be found there, and may be stored electronically on your desktop.
The dialer is a self-executing file that is 800k large (less than 1 Megabyte). To install, do the following:



Where is the Dialer, now that I have installed it?
The BellSouth Internet Services Dialer will launch, and a copy of the shortcut will reside in the NETWORK and DIALUP CONNECTIONS file (See Diagram). Simply click START / SETTINGS / NETWORK DIAL UP CONNECTIONS / BELLSOUTH INTERNET SERVICES DIALER. A copy of the Dialer will also appear on your desktop, if you wish to launch the Dialer from your desktop.
Once launch you launch the Dialer, you will be asked to enter a USERNAME and PASSWORD.
When I use the dialer, it adds a "1" for long distance
In order to remove the "1" when dialing a local number, you must remove the checkbox that says USE DIALING RULES from the PROPERTIES/GENERAL tab in the Dialer.
What 800# do I dial when a Local POP is not available?
If a local dial up POP is not presented in the Dialer, then hourly charges will apply. You may enter the following 800# for nationwide access to the BellSouth network, but be aware that additional fees will accrue. The 800# number is 1-888-413-6484.
Are the numbers in the Dialer automatically updated?
Currently, the dial up numbers provided in the Dialer are static, meaning that they do not update automatically. Updates to the available dial-up POPs may occur every other month. To gain the most recent list of POPs, follow this installation process again to write over the existing Dialer files. A future release containing an auto-update feature will be available in 2003.
When I click on the Dialer, nothing happens. What now?
The installation file may have corrupted if it was interrupted for any reason. Please repeat the installation instructions and process.
Where is the BellSouth Service Description Referenced?
The BellSouth description of service appears as you install the Dialer. As reference, it is reprinted below. Please refer to individual Dial Internet service contracts for the most up to date terms and conditions of service.
BellSouth® Dial Internet Services (the "Service") provides three dial-up access methods/speeds to the Internet: analog access supporting up to 56 kbps modems (with or without V.90 bis compression enabled), single B-channel ISDN (up to 64 kbps), or dual channel 128 kbps ISDN. Users are expected to provide their own computer, modem, and/or BRI line. Both analog and ISDN Internet access will terminate into the BellSouth network access server (NAS) in the BellSouth Managed Facilities ("BMFs" or "POPs") within the nine-state BellSouth service area including Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee, (the "BellSouth Service Area") and will be served by BellSouth POPs where available. Outside available BellSouth areas and within the continental US, users may access a designated Global Service Provider ("GSP") POP, at an additional cost as specified on the Customer’s Order Summary Form, via the "roaming" service provided by BellSouth and the GSP. Roaming and/or long distance fees will apply beyond standard BellSouth and GSP monthly charges if any of Customer’s users accesses the Service from outside the BellSouth Service Area or via GSP provided roaming POPs or "800" number(s).
BellSouth dial Internet POP numbers may be updated from time to time so an updated version of this dialer may be required until such time that an automated connection is established. The BellSouth® Internet Services Dialer is a standard Microsoft® application that is provided on an as-is basis. No guarantees of application performance are provided or implied. How do I uninstall the Dialer?
If you do not wish to continue using the BellSouth Internet Services Dialer, it is not necessary to remove the program due to its minimal size (800 kilobits). However, if you prefer to remove the application, please do the following:
