BellSouth offers three models of text telephones: the Ultratec 4225, the Ultratec 4425 and the Ultratec Uniphone 1000.
The Uniphone 1000 is a combination text telephone, standard telephone with volume control, and a voice and hearing-carry-over TTY. It has a four-row, typewriter-style keyboard and a two-line, two-by-24-character display. Call progress information is spelled out clearly on the display to indicate whether the phone is ringing or busy. In the TTY mode, the unit incorporates Ultratec's state-of-the-art Turbo CodeTM for quick information transfer.
