SPORTS To televise final rounds of the 2000 BellSouth
Senior Classic at Opryland
NASHVILLE,
Tenn., February 28, 2000 - The BellSouth Senior
Classic at Opryland will once again take center stage
in the world of professional golf when ABC Sports
broadcasts the final rounds of the tournament on Saturday,
June 3, 1-3pm CST and Sunday, June 4, 1-3pm CST.

national broadcast of the BellSouth Senior Classic
at Opryland will allow viewers a chance to see great
golf as well as give the city of Nashville four hours
of television exposure across the country," said Marty
Dickens, BellSouth state president, Tennessee. "We
are proud to sponsor an event that supports the community
and pleased to have ABC covering our tournament."
Not
only has ABC put together an outstanding team of announcers
in Curtis Strange, Terry Gannon, Ian Baker-Finch,
Steve Melnyk, Judy Rankin, Billy Ray Brown and Bob
Rosburg, the network will also significantly increase
the camera coverage of the tournament. Sixteen field
cameras, four roaming cameras and two studio announcer
cameras will provide viewers with the best shots,
angles and images of the BellSouth Senior Classic
at Opryland. ABC will place cameras on nine greens
and cover all the excitement on the entire backside
of the course.
This
year's BellSouth Senior Classic at Opryland is set
for May 28-June 4 at Springhouse Golf Club. In just
six years the event has raised more than $1 million
for charities in Tennessee. The tournament is one
of Nashville's pioneer sporting events and is considered
one of the premiere stops on the Senior PGA TOUR.
