NEW
PARKING ARRANGEMENT WILL MAKE TOURNAMENT MORE CONVENIENT
THAN EVER
NASHVILLE,
Tenn.,
May 25, 2000 - Parking for next week's BellSouth Senior
Classic at Opryland will move to a new spot less than
a mile from the golf course. The new parking arrangements
will make this the most spectator-friendly event in
the tournament's seven year history.
The
new accommodations for public parking are located
at the northeast corner of Briley Parkway and McGavock
Pike. Spectators will take Exit 12 off of Briley Parkway
and follow the signs.
Due
to anticipated heavy traffic, those traveling from
the south, west or north of Nashville should plan
to approach the course from the north by traveling
south on Briley Parkway from Gallatin Road or I-65
north to reach Exit 12. Traffic from the east can
travel north on Briley Parkway from I-40 east.
Free
shuttles will be provided to transport spectators
from the parking area to the Springhouse golf course.
Shuttles begin running at 5:30am and continue to run
until one hour after tournament play is completed.
As in previous years, there will be a $5 charge for
parking.
"Will
Call" for the BellSouth Senior Classic at Opryland
will be located at the Radison Inn Opryland directly
across from the entrance to Opryland Hotel on McGavock
Pike.
The
BellSouth Senior Classic at Opryland, with a $1.5
million purse and live ABC television coverage of
its two final rounds, is considered a premier stop
on the Senior PGA TOUR.
In
it's first six years, the BellSouth Senior Classic
at Opryland has raised more than $1 million for Tennessee
charities. This year's beneficiaries are Vanderbilt
Children's Hospital, Family & Children's Service,
Boy Scouts of America, The First Tee and Tennessee
Lions Charities.
