SENIOR TOUR ROOKIE FUZZY ZOELLER COMMITS TO PLAY IN THE 2002 BELLSOUTH SENIOR CLASSIC AT OPRYLAND

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - February 5, 2002 - SENIOR TOUR rookie, Fuzzy Zoeller, will play in the 2002 BellSouth Senior Classic at Opryland held June 9 -16, with the final round taking place on Father's Day.

"We are very excited to have Fuzzy Zoeller, one of golf's best personalities, commit to the tournament," said Amy Hawk, tournament director, BellSouth Senior Classic at Opryland. "We have always had a great field at the BellSouth Senior Classic and this year will be no exception with the eligibility of SENIOR TOUR rookies like, Fuzzy, Ben Crenshaw, Bruce Lietzke, Mark McCumber and Bobby Wadkins."

Zoeller, winner of the 1979 Masters Tournament and the 1984 US Open, captured 10 PGA TOUR titles in his career. He is exempt on the SENIOR TOUR due to his status on the Top-31 all-time money list. A fan favorite, Zoeller has a relaxed approach to the game and is known for his on-course whistling and wearing sunglasses, no matter what the conditions.

"I am looking forward to competing in the BellSouth Senior Classic at Opryland," said Zoeller. "Everything I have heard about the tournament has been very positive, from the golf course, to the volunteers, to the tournament staff and sponsors."

"Living only three hours away, Nashville will almost be like playing here at home in Southern Indiana," continued Zoeller. "I have made a lot of friends in the Nashville area over the years. I am hoping they all come out to support the event and have a great time."

The 9th annual BellSouth Senior Classic at Opryland is a premier stop on the SENIOR PGA TOUR and will be broadcast nationwide on CNBC and PAX networks. Since inception, the BellSouth Senior Classic has donated more than $1.6 million to Tennessee charities. This year's beneficiaries are Vanderbilt Children's Hospital, Family & Children's Service, Tennessee Lions Charities, Middle Tennessee Council of the Boy Scouts of America, Girl Scout Council of Cumberland Valley and Boys & Girls Clubs of Middle Tennessee.
